The Leader of the Legislative Council of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, has been nominated for the prestigious “Most Outstanding Grassroots Legislator of the Year” award at the forthcoming 10th Prestige Media Excellence Award and Lecture.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 12th September 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the organisers, Hon. Apatira emerged as the most qualified among several worthy nominees following a thorough voting process involving respondents and the Awards Board of Directors.
The recognition is a fitting acknowledgement of Hon. Apatira’s legislative prowess, commitment to grassroots representation and dedication to effective local governance.
As Leader of the Ojodu LCDA Legislative Council, he has distinguished himself through his understanding of legislative processes, effective coordination of his colleagues and consistent advocacy for initiatives that promote the welfare and development of residents.
His nomination is therefore not merely a recognition of his position, but a commendation of his capacity, competence and contributions to grassroots democracy under the able Leadership of the Council Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku who is also has a record of Sterling service and performance at the grassroots in the last couple of years.
The award is indeed well deserved and reflects the confidence reposed in his leadership by the people and stakeholders within the community.
The 10th Prestige Media Excellence Award and Lecture will also honour other distinguished personalities, including Senator Olamilekan Areola (Yayi), Ogun West Senator and APC Governorship Candidate for Ogun State; Hon. (Prince) Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and APC Candidate for Ikeja Constituency II; and Hon. Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagements (South West).
Also to be honoured is Mr. Babajide Kolade Otitoju, Director of News, TVC, who will deliver the main lecture titled:
“POWER TO PROSPERITY: HOW POLITICAL DECISIONS SHAPE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES AND NEW VENTURES.”
The event promises to bring together distinguished political leaders, legislators, media professionals, community stakeholders and other notable personalities to celebrate excellence in leadership, public service and nation-building.
